The signs are the stage, the planets are the actors: each one governs a part of your life, rules its own signs and answers to a card of the tarot.
Astrologers read the planets in four families. The luminaries, the Sun and the Moon, are the two pillars of the chart: who you are and what you feel. The personal planets, Mercury, Venus and Mars, describe your everyday character: thinking, loving, acting. The social planets, Jupiter and Saturn, tell the story of your place in the world: luck and effort. The transpersonal planets, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, so slow they mark whole generations, set off the great turning points: rupture, dream, rebirth.
